"Artists who are forward thinking are looking for alternative forms of expression, a different approach to seeing and interpreting the world." I have seldom been challenged to render an object as it appears to the eye, rather the essence or spirit or symbolic understanding is the work of the artist. I reject the idea of "art for arts sake", but would argue that art matters for therapeutic reasons and it's beauty alone. Art is uniquely suited to help us with some of the troubles of the inner life. Visual art, just like music and literature is an apothecary for the soul". Soli Deo Gloria
